That’s why we’ve teamed up with Invention Arts, to launch a website with an Aerio Bookstore titled Books Against the Storm. From the bookstore website, you can purchase a book and donate 100 percent of the profit to one of three Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery charities: Houston Humane Society, Houston Food Bank and the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. In addition, Aerio is waving all transaction fees so the website can donate more to those impacted.
The bookstore is powered by our parent company Ingram Content Group, with over 15 million titles available to search and purchase. You can also embed the bookstore’s search interface on your own web page, to expand this initiative to your own communities - find the simple line of embed code here.
A little more about the charitable organizations:
“After receiving an overwhelming number of inquiries from citizens and companies who want to help, Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett have established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax-deductible flood relief donations for victims affected by the recent floods.”
“The Houston Food Bank is there to help people whose lives were up-ended by Harvey, and they need your help. Find out how you can get help if you need it, and what you can do to help others.”
“The Houston Humane Society is working to free up space for the influx of stray and displaced animals we expect to need shelter in the coming days and weeks.”
Books Against the Storm was created by Invention Arts, a media-centric design and product innovation firm that originally created Aerio to support the widest direct access to books and the knowledge and culture they represent.
