Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. By using this site, you agree your name, address, e-mail, and any payment information you provide to VitalSource Technologies Inc. d/b/a Aer.io (“Aer.io”), together with information regarding the manner of use via this site, will be processed by Aer.io and its affiliated companies, or third party service providers, and not further disclosed to other third parties except as permitted by this Privacy Policy or as required by law or regulation. At Aer.io, we have a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we need it.
  • We only share your personal information with third parties to provide your requested services, comply with applicable laws, to further develop our products, or protect our rights.

Below is our privacy policy which incorporates these goals: If you have questions about deleting or correcting your personal data please contact our support team at : GetInTouch@aerbook.com. Aer.io operates several websites including www.aer.io and aerbook.com. It is Aer.io’s policy to help you understand the information we collect while operating this web site and how we use the information you provide us.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Aer.io collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Aer.io’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Aer.io’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Aer.io may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. Aer.io also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users and for users leaving comments on other user’s comment pages. Aer.io only discloses logged-in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Visitors to Aer.io’s websites choose to interact with Aer.io in ways that require Aer.io to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Aer.io gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up at our websites to provide a username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Aer.io – by purchasing a service or subscription, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Aer.io collects such personally-identifying information to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Aer.io. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Aer.io may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Aer.io may display this information publicly or provide it to others.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Aer.io discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, affiliated organizations, and third parties who (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Aer.io’s behalf or to provide services available at Aer.io’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. For example, we will; (i) release your credit card information to the card-issuing bank or card payment processing provider to confirm payment for products and services purchased on our sites; (2) release your name and address information to the delivery service to deliver products that you ordered; (3) and provide order information to third parties that help us deliver the services. Aer.io is located in the United States, and therefore some of our employees, contractors, affiliated organizations, or third parties may be located outside of your home country. By using Aer.io’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Aer.io will not rent or lease potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone, except as specifically provided in this privacy policy. Other than to its employees, contractors, affiliated organizations, and third parties as described above, Aer.io discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Aer.io believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Aer.io, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an Aer.io website and have supplied your email address, Aer.io may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Aer.io and our products. You may opt-out of receiving promotional emails by sending a request to our support email address: GetInTouch@aerbook.com, in which case we will thereafter only send you an email with information that affects your use of our products or website. We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mecha-nisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Aer.io takes reasonable measures to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information as described in the Security section below.
